Congratulation of Shymkent city akim N. Sauranbayev with the acquisition the city of republican significance

Dear Shymkent residents! Dear South-Kazakhstanis!

With great joy, we all took the news that the President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev publicly signed the Decree giving Shymkent the status of a city of national significance. Since that moment, in our country there appeared the third multi-million-strong city and the seventeenth region.

This is really a historical moment, to which we have been going for many years. Now, along with Astana residents and Almaty residents, Shymkent residents have become residents of a metropolis with a population of over one million people.

Undoubtedly, this high status will go only for the benefit of the residents of the city and will mark a new page in its development.

Firstly, as the Head of State emphasized, Shymkent will become a new center of attraction of investments, technologies and intellectual resources in the whole of Central Asia. Secondly, the volume of financing of social programs will be increased significantly, which means that more funds will be allocated for the construction of hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and apartment houses.

Thirdly, a prosperity of a metropolis will entail an improvement in the quality of life of citizens, the level of providing the population with communal goods will be increased.

Dear Shymkent residents! We are on the verge of positive reforms and ambitious achievements.

The appearance of the third megapolis in the country is a great achievement, an indicator of its high development. The city with a thousand-year history turns into one of the beautiful, smart and safe megacities. This is a common victory of the whole Kazakhstan, an indicator of the right way of development!

Yours faithfully, akim of Shymkent Nurlan Sauranbayev.
