Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan U. Shukeyev arrived in Shymkent on a working visit
Members of the Republican Information Group headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the RK, Minister of Agriculture Umirzak Shukeyev arrived in Shymkent. Purpose of a visit is to clarify the instructions of the Head of State, raised in the Address “Growth in prosperity of Kazakhstanis: Improvement of Incomes and Quality of Life,” regarding the country's agricultural sector.
“President in his Address set a goal to increase labor productivity and export of processed agricultural products by 2.5 times by 2022,” U. Shukeyev noted. - The work of the Ministry of Agriculture will be divided into three blocks according to projects: digitalization, industry and investment. In addition, we plan to reduce inefficient subsidies. We must become an export country, work not for quantity, but for quality.
Shymkent mayor Gabidulla Abdrakhimov spoke about the activities carried out in the framework of the Address. In particular, he announced the creation of "Shymkent agro- industrial zone in the city. It is planned to attract 20 billion tenge of private investment and create 40 new enterprises. As a result, a powerful agrarian cluster will appear in Shymkent, and by 2022 the volume of agricultural products should reach 67.5 billion tenge.
During the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture spoke with the meeting participants and answered their questions. He noted the positive patterns in the development of the third metropolis of the country and called for supporting the city mayor’s initiatives.
