SHYMKENT MAYOR HELD A MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN REPUBLIC
Today, Shymkent city mayor Yerlan Aytakhanov held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ms. Kiytumetsi Siipelo Tandeka Matthews.
During the bilateral meeting, issues of developing mutual relations in the cultural and humanitarian sphere and establishing cooperation in the implementation of joint projects were considered.
The head of the city emphasized that strengthening partnerships with the Republic of South Africa is one of the important directions of the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that a favorable climate has been created in Shymkent for the activities of foreign investors, and expressed the city’s readiness to establish business cooperation.
The special guest noted that a friendly relationship was established between Kazakhstan and South Africa, emphasized the need to further strengthen friendly ties between the countries. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador also informed the head of the city about the possibilities of strengthening business relations between our countries through the implementation of joint projects in the tourism industry and the food industry.
“Shymkent city has a favorable position in the development of the food industry. The convenient climate of the region allows you to grow various fruits and vegetables. This makes it possible to become the Shymkent a city where a network of street kitchens like the world famous King Town is developed, ”said Kiytumetsi Matthews at the meeting.
Shymkent mayor noted that the city leadership is interested in implementing joint projects in the tourism industry, expressed readiness to consider mutually beneficial projects.
During the meeting, issues of exchange of experience between our countries in the field of education and science were also discussed.
